Church of England - Diocese of Chichester
Building a community of God’s people in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our vision is to build that community under God in all that we do so as to fulfil Christ’s mission in the power of the Holy Spirit in our community.
The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, Burgess Hill (Diocese of Chichester)is a modern church situated on the corner of West Street and Royal George Road in the town of Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
St. Edward's is an Anglican Church (Church of England) that seeks to be
CATHOLIC in the way we express our faith.
CHARISMATIC in seeking to be gifted by the Holy Spirit
CONTEMPORARY in our style of worship
COMMITTED to exploring God's word in the scriptures
CONCERNED to share the healing love of Jesus with all.
St. Edward the Confessor, Burgess Hill is a very warm and welcoming church that is seeking ways to engage with the parish community around us.and where each person is valued and encouraged.
We are a small church with a very big heart!
Our 'main' act of worship on SUNDAY is the PARISH MASS
at 10.00 a.m.
Our worship style is both contemporary as well as traditional - where all may feel at home regardless of 'previous expereince' or none!
KIDZ ZONE is our children's ministry - and takes place each Sunday at 10.00 a.m. (except during the month of August). We welcome ALL children.
On the First Sunday of the month we have our monthly informal evening service: PRAYER & PRAISE at 6.00 p.m. This is an informal celebration of praise and worship with the Ministry of prayer for Healing and Wholeness and ends with BENEDICTION.
THE MUSTARD SEED CAFE' As part of our service to the community, St. Edward's has set up the MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITY CAFE' in what was formally our Church Hall. The Cafe' serves good quality coffees and teas, along with a menu of affordable and delicious food.
The Mustard Seed Cafe is currently open on
THURSDAYS - FRIDAYS - and SATURDAYS 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
At the heart of our life together is an expectation that we will encounter God both through the Eucharist, where we are fed and sustained by Christ, and also through engaging with what He teaches us in the Bible. We believe that such an enounter with the living God transforms lives, and our prayer is that we will be a means by which His world around us will be transformed as well.
Be assured of a very warm welcome here at St. Edward's!
